The Komik Kariage Kun manga follows the personal and philosophical interludes of Takeda, a high school student who’s in love with the girl who sits next to him in class. Takeda is also an aspiring mangaka, which sparks conflict between his two passions. The manga has been translated into English by Viz Media, who are releasing it on their website Vizmanga.com. Half of chapter 1 was originally uploaded on September 6th but went offline afterwards. On November 2nd they released chapter 1 again, this time with higher quality images and text which wasn't blurry when enlarged. The manga was later released in print format by Viz Media on July 15th, 2017. In addition to the English release of the manga, Comixology has also released the manga digitally. In November 2016, an author's note from Ryo-chan was posted on serializedincomix.com saying that it was a one-shot comic and that he wouldn't be doing anymore chapters because he couldn't draw them under deadline for the next semester. The author's note said that there were no plans for a sequel. On December 13th, the author's note was removed and replaced with an illustration of Takeda attending class with his head on the desk. The next day, on December 14th, the author's note was replaced once again with an illustration of Takeda attaching his binder to his back. It also explained that Ryo-chan had sent all of the chapters' specifications to Comixology so that they could translate them into English before he did any more of them. The post said that he would be making "several" more one-shot comics which would come out every week or two before publishing a collected volume in 2018. On June 13th, 2017, one of the readers asked Ryo-chan if he still had plans to make a sequel and he replied yes. He also said that he had already sent the first two chapters to Viz Media and would be sending them the third chapter soon. And that's why we haven't seen any new chapter for now as the author said that he would only continue if Viz Media agreed to translate it into English. What makes this story stand out from other manga is its brilliant use of characters, atmosphere and setting. This offers an emotional ride as each character’s personality is unique and one can easily relate with them. The artwork is also as good as the story as it is delicate and emotional. Komik Kariage Kun for sure stands out from the crowd. It has an interesting plot and each character has a unique personality that is brought to life with amazing artwork. The manga also teaches you how to draw. The mangaka, Ryo-chan gives us details on how he made each one of his characters with different expressions that are easy to learn from right down to the lines. The setting is very closely related to the plot so it makes it for a beautiful read.
